Walleye Fishing on Trophy Fly-out Lakes

Nothing caps-off a perfect Ontario fishing vacation then a daylong fly-out to a remote trophy Walleye Lake. We have Walleye lakes that are virtually impossible to get to without a floatplane. The population of Walleye in our fly-out lakes is so high that many guests say they catch more Walleye in one day then with fishing a whole week on other well known Walleye lakes.

If you have the determination and energy, we also have Walleye lakes, which you can portage to, and find the same great fishing. Our fly-out and portage Walleye lakes come with typical Canadian Shield structure except some lakes are shallow and some are deep.

Ontario Walleye Fishing

On the shallow-water and deep-water walleye lakes that we fish in the spring, sizes will tend to run in the 1 to 2-pound range.

On the shallow-water lakes in the summer we still catch good numbers of 1 to 2-pound fish with an occasional 3 to 4-pounder being pulled out of the cabbage weeds.

On the deep-water lakes when the walleyes move to the reefs, we start to get into a larger average size of fish. On the reefs they average at 3 to 4 pounds. There are much larger Walleyes and fishing the deep water this time of year will give you a very good chance at catching Walleyes 8 pounds and over.

Ontario Walleye Fishing

In the fall we tend to find the same sizes that we run into in the spring, with and occasional large Walleye in the mix.

Even though the big trophy Walleyes are harder to catch in certain times of the year, you will still catch great numbers and have tons of fun. This is the best chance to experience the best Walleye fishing of your life.
