Getting Here By Car and Boat:

From International Falls and Fort Frances, you can get to Camp Manitou by taking highway 11 east for approx. 20 minutes, turning (left) north onto highway 502 and traveling for approx. 30 minutes. Then (left) west on Cedar Narrows Road for approx. 25 minutes. When you see the Esox landing sign turn left and this will take you to Esox landing, which is situated at the end of the road. The last stretch will be about 5 minutes.

Once you are at our landing one of our company cruisers will then take you on a scenic, 11 mile trip through narrow channels of water from Esox landing through esox lake, up the Lower Manitou Stretch to our island retreat. This pleasurable trip takes about 20 minutes. Total travel time from Fort Frances to our camp is approx. 1hr. and 40 minutes.

With the boat ride into camp you can pack and bring whatever you would like, there are no weight restrictions with our boat in trips.

Getting Here By Floatplane:

If you would like to add to your adventure and/or save 1 hr. of travel time you can take a float plane in that will land right at our dock. We Rusty Myers flight service when chartering a flight to camp and they are within a 30-35 minute flight from the camp.

To get to Rusty's once you are in Fort Frances, travel on Scott St. heading east. Once you come to the Hwy 11 intersection by Rainy Lake Sports, take a left and travel Hwy 11 for about 1 mile. You will see a bill board with Rusty's name on it and you will need to take a right and follow their driveway to the base. Rusty's is on the edge of town, so once you cross the border it should only take you about 5 minutes to get there.

When flying in a bush plane you will be limited to approx. 100lbs. per person, so you need to pack smart for the trip. If you over pack there might be extra costs assessed by the float base.

2009 Flying Rates (subject to change if fuel prices go way up again):

  • Beaver (4 person plane) $475 + tax each way
  • Beach (8 person plane) $600 + tax each way
  • Caravan (8 person plane) $675 + tax each way

If you would like a fight into camp, just let us know and we can arrange it for you.
